So, I know lots of people were complaining about how there is little copper or tin ore in FTB, and the response is always "You are mining on the wrong level." I like the idea of being forced to mine at different levels, as many of you do. However, I noticed that (in the mindcrack pack,) I could find very little copper or tin ore, even when mining at the recommended depths. So, I did a little experiment: I made six standard-size quarries, spaced out over a fairly large area, and let them all run to bedrock. Total ore: 2 stacks iron, 9 gold, 22 silver, 21 lead, 39 tin, 52 copper, 2 stacks aluminium. I also got a stack of gems, 7 stacks of xychorium, and 17 diamonds. I then made another new world and repeated the test, getting roughly the same numbers.

To me, this is far too few. 6 quarries couldn't even manage a full stack of tin, or copper. Maybe it's supposed to be this way, being the "hard pack" and all, but it seems far to little for somebody looking for a slightly more casual experience. I love Thermal Expansion, but it seems that it's world-gen is... not that great. Looking into the config, my options appear to be giving the burden of ore-gen to another mod(s), or tweaking the settings in thermal expansion. I figure somebody else has looked into it before, and as I can't seem to find much information about the ore-gen on any wiki:

What Thermal Expansion ore generation settings produce a more balanced amount of ore and/or which mods do the same?
(Edit: or at least explain what the config options do? It's almost perfectly intuitive...)

I went into TE and multiplied all the "numClusters" by 1.5. It's still not very much. Were I to re-gen, I would give over generation to IC or RP and turn TE off. Probably RP as I know IC conflicts and minecraft crashes if its turned on (What I don't know is if that conflict is with TE and goes away if TE generation is turned off)
