Hello, I'm going to start making a separate thaumcraft base but I don't know where i should build it. Should I create my own node with silverwood trees or find a good node? I have done most of the research and I have the goggles of revealing.

I want to have it close (within 500 blocks) of my home so I can teleport there without using too much EU.

What do I need to put in my thaumcraft base when I have built it?

Well, I personally just stuck it in my base and should be adding a few bees for cleaning up the mess pretty soon™.

As far as nodes go, DoctorOr for example simply uses a dark node. I personally preffer 400-500 pure nodes, you can just encase either and kill the wisps. I prefer smaller nodes because they get filled up by bigger ones. Whereas a big does not and you'll have to start replenishing the aura sooner. OTOH, you'll have to do that even with a smaller one sooner or later anyway, but it's nice to have the time to build up to that point.

As far as what should go in: entirelly up to you. Heck you can do with just the cruicible a water source, 4 alembics, the table, the altar and the research table (and a few chests). It's not about what needs to be in. It's about style. Which in essence means: the more the merrier. Farms, animal pens, bees, a giant room with essence in jars, drop a beacon here and there, maybe some nitors and candles for lighting... There was a thread, show us your thaumcraft room. One guy build a dark room for his node, encased in crystal clusters, it was like looking at the night sky because of all the wisps :D. I liked that.
