Summary of the problem When Optifine installed, attempting to open "Video Settings" crashes the instance

Pack Version 1.5.0

What is the bug? When Optifine installed, attempting to open "Video Settings" crashes the instance. This happens with both the latest release version for 1.12.2 and the preview version for 1.12.2

Mod & Version Optifine:

OptiFine_1.12.2_HD_U_C7
preview_OptiFine_1.12.2_HD_U_C8_pre

Is it repeatable? Happens every time

Known Fix Don't use optifine
Yes, I know, it's not "supported".
