What's the proper way to update NEI?

Hey folks,

Me again. So I want to update NEI but the moment I start-up with the new JAR, my NEI is empty. So what went wrong does anyone know?
 
What do you mean it's empty? You have it installed but it looks like it's not there? If that's the case press "o" in the inventory screen.
If not, please give some more information.
 
So you see the GUI but there's no item on the right.
1. Check the search bar
2. Check the selected mods at the top
3. If that doesen't work it has been reported as a bug in past versions.
 
right now I'm using 1.0.3.62

I tried updating to the latest: 1.0.4.83

I did also update the other chickenbones mods (reverted them too when NEI stopped working)
 
To modding yes, but I do get the concept (coder myself)

I tried googling.. but most results come back to "have you tried pressing O" :P
 
Hehe yeah because that's a common mistake :)
I see they jumped from 3.7 to 4.7
Usually the first versions from a branch are extremely buggy. Try getting mine.
 
yeh yours seems to work.. let's hope it fixes the bug where NEI suddenly stops accepting searches and you have to restart the game :P
 
Been playing for a while. Didn't happen. So far i think this is the most stable version. What does 4.x add new anyways?
 
heh to be honest, no clue :P was frustrated that NEI kept having that bug I mentioned... so wanted to update to newest to see if it was fixed
 
judging by the addons I see in them, it looks good. I see no big reactors tho haha.. such an awesome mod :)
