Hey, I'm not even sure how to describe this. I was caving in my new 1.5.2 server and noticed this large open area where it looked like a block of stone was darker color than the rest. I couldn't see well so I put a torch down and ran back up to look. Then, the block moved. Then there were 2 then 3 of them, moving. Looked like stone. They were clumping together sort of. Then I started taking damage and backed off. I had a wand of lightning but it didn't do anything to it. Then, it retreated into a vertical shaft that went lots deeper, so I capped it with cobble. I have no idea what this was but I wasn't able to fight it like a normal enemy. What did I encounter?

Well, a bit more info would be required. Are you using an official FTB pack, or a custom one? If a custom, what mods are in it?

Sounds like a golem, but it could be almost anything from that description and lack of mod list or screenshots.

If I see it again I'll try to explore what it is further. The only thing it looked like was a couple blocks of stone that MOVED on their own. Very odd. I'll keep my eye out for it again.

Yeah, that sounds like a golem all right. Try spawning yourself one in creative mode.

They start off as a few moving blocks and then, when you aggro them, start vacuuming blocks towards them from the surroundings, building a proper body. Until the body is fully formed and the central "heart" becomes exposed, they are essentially invulnerable.
