What did I bork up here?

In the pic below is my smeltery. For some odd reason when I have a fluiduct underneath it putting lava in the smeltery, after the internal lava tank is full, it dumps it into the smeltery. Is there a reason for this. Never noticed this before. Is it the positioning of the ender tank that is doing it?

because you've got an active ender tank next to a drain (which is two way).
also, why use a fluid duct? just put that ender tank next to the smeltery tank, turn it on and you should be good to go.
