Bug Well Of Suffering Wont Stop

So I've made a tier 4 blood altar currently and have a well of suffering running below it with powered witch, skeleton, zombie, and zombie pigman spawners.

The altar will fill extremely quickly and I thought that the well of suffering would automatically stop when the altar was full, but it isn't.

The well will continue to run and drain my soul network which is extremely annoying.

Is this a bug or am I missing something?

This is intentional, but don't forget you can use the blood the ritual generates to fill up your soul network (just put your orb in the altar). This way, it will be full when you need it, while not unnecessarily draining all of the LP in your soul network.
