Vanilla and Biomes o Plenty customization?

First off im using the direwolf20 1.6.4 pack. I found out the pack comes with most of the BOPs disabled. So I enabled them all. I ended up watching a video that showcased all the biomes and i picked out which ones i disliked and disabled those. Is there anyway to kinda tell the game to have certain kinda biomes? Like having alps and crag right near spawn? Also is there going to be any penalty if i were to disable all the vanilla biomes? Like would there be anything that i would miss out on as far as world gen items? If i disable ocean under vanilla but i have oceanic abyss for BOP will it still spawn ocean? Things like that.

I don't think you can actually control the generation of the biomes like that, unless you were to use some kind of program that let's you do that.
though I don't know of any of those programs.

disabling the vanilla biomes does not affect the generation of similar BoP biomes, but I do not recommend taking out the vanilla biomes as you'll need them for certain things. for example certain bees and trees can only be bred in certain biomes. what I would recommend is either loading the overworld with only the vanilla biomes, or with vanilla and BoP biomes, and create a mystcraft age that suits your taste with the biomes you want
