[URGENT HELP] Portal Spawners

A couple of friends and I are playing on a FTB (latest update) server that I am hosting off my computer.
We've just built a quarry 1000 coordinates from our base and need a faster travel time then walking there everytime we need to check quarry progress/refill engines etc.

I've tried to set up 2 portal spawners, one at our base and one at the quarry but they don't seem to work. I think I must be missing something to it as there is nothing on youtube or in the FTB wiki on it.

I suggest you to look at this video:
from 20:00 to the end of the video.
 
"1000 coordinates"? I think you mean "1000 meters" or "1000 blocks" seeing as 1 "coordinate" is 1 block, and 1 block is 1x1x1 meters.
 
all I know is that both sides the portal need to be chunk loaded and it may need see through portals off.

Sorry to be a nerd, but this bugs me when I'm replied to with incorrect spelling -.-

Also, it is a proven fact that 1 block is 1x1x1 meters, and it SHOULD say 1000 m., or 1000 meters. Done and said.
 
Also I'm pretty sure it says 1000m not 1000c. Oh, and intralinking mystcraft portals word work. The modifier is a by expensive though.
 
I feel like join in on this off topic argument by pointing out that coordinates are a system to define a point in a two or three dimensional plane, while a meter is a unit of length and a block can be used as either a unit of volume of length.
 
Notch noted that 1 block is 1x1x1 meters. also, the player is 1.73 meters, and Notch once said that he is 1.7 meters tall. Notch is a steve. But still, 1 block is 1x1x1 meters!

Edit: Also, why the heck are we arguing about what a block is in a post about portals?
