unable to insert intricate circuit board in soldering iron

I have been trying in smp and single player creative mode, to insert the intricate circuit board into the soldering iron slot for use in my multi farm but the soldering iron will not accept the board. Any idea why this is happening? I followed the instructions and placed the tin tubes in the slots, one per box, then changed the setting to "Managed Farms" then attempted to insert the board but it is rejected. Please assist.

Are you using the JSTR Texture pack? If so, the slot is higher than it appears on the texture.
