unable to do a forced update

Details of the issue:
I can go into the options area of FTBLauncher but once i change any setting im unable to launch anything and this is what apperes in the console window:
Unhandled exception in Thread[AWT-EventQueue-0,6,main]: java.lang.NullPointerException​
