because I wanted to resolve the first one, I tried adding Mystcraft the most updated 1.2.5 version that can still be downloaded, from the author's blog, to Retro SSP FTB I tried putting it in the mod folder, it appears there but doesn't install tried both ways of adding it to the jar via the launcher and doing it manually but each time I start that modpack the zipped file itself... vanished. So I went to the support site, registered, and I never got my email. Looked for an option to resend, did not see one. Those are my two problems any help that leads to fixing either problem would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time. Oh and the version in question is Mystcraft v 0.8.6b for Forge 3.3.7.135 I assumed it would have some compatibility with the version of Forge Retro uses. Also... Minecraft itself launches without any problems, aside from Mystcraft vanishing.

Are you updating the modpack when you launch ftb? When the launcher updates, it actually removes the mod folder, and re-downloads the new ones.
I dont think so, because then the mod disabled file in the mod folder would have vanished too right?

Odd it does not vanish from the mod folder but the console log says the zipped file does not contain any mods. So I am assuming it should definitely go into the jar.

I think that that version is a JAR mod. But you should check the mod authors website to be sure....
Yeah it goes in the jar but each time I launch, the modpack does not update but, the zipped file put in instamods folder vanishes before the console shows up 
that is the only reason I can think of as to why mystcraft did not show up in the console log... Just forcefully installed it directly into the jar. To the same result, Mystcraft vanished. Wait its still in the jar but nothing is happening -_- arghh...

hm.... Maybe Retro just does not like mystcraft (joking)
