Twilight forest portals...

Made my first one and it put me... inside a hollow hill. Googled a bit to find out the mechanics of twilight forest portals but I cant find anything.

Can i just make another portal a bit away in the overworld, and then have it come out in a different location in the twilight forest, or do they work like nether portals, and the new overworld portal will just send me to the original within the twilight forest?
 
Nether- 1 step, overworld- 8
Twilight forest- 1 step Overworld- 1 step

So yea, move around 100 blocks and ye should be fine
