Troublesome players

I'll leave it for the mods to decide on this but i thought that since we have little in the way of protection plugins at the moment server admins might be able to help each other by warning about troublesome players with a view to preventing problems.

Basically my idea is for the admin to post the name of the player, what he/she did and some evidence to back it up. Evidence can take the form of logs, admissions or screenshots.

Any thoughts on this?

I whould be both in favor and against is (not a mod though but a fellow ServerAdmin). If the topic can stay clean and civil then yes, If i becomes a topic where naming and flaming will be setting the tone it whould be a bad thing.

Useful info about players getting lost in a sea
and potentially angry players "challenging" the evidence

Yeah I'm aware of the problems it can cause. It's the reason I never used McBans. But there's little else in the way of protection. That's way I think some kind of evidence should be posted and the accused should be allowed one post to rebutt the evidence.

EDIT: Just to be clear, i think both the admin and the player should only be allowed one post. i see that as quite fair.

A private thread/list between several servers would probably work, but anything on a open forum will either be abused by rogue players/admin or descend into a flame war.

There's been a fair few threads/topics/forums with things like this, and they all go the same way.​

If you know several admin, you could form something on google docs, just for your servers.
