Hi all,

Long time Lurker, first time poster!

Back in the day, I used a bukkit plugin called ChopTree2 which was almost the same as the Timber or TreeCapitator mods except for one main difference..

With ChopTree2 when you chopped the bottom block of a tree, the log blocks move down one by one instead, this means you would have to chop each log as before but not have to climb trees to reach the top logs.

(Lumberjack was another bukkit plugin that did the same thing)

Does anyone know if there's a Forge equivalent of ChopTree2? I don't want to use Timber or TreeCapitator because they are too OP for my liking.

Many thanks for your time,

Fusey

Thaumcraft 3 is said to give you a tool for cutting trees.
Alternatively you can use the chainsaw from IC2.

Neither of those give the ability to do what fusey needs.

Fusey, to my knowledge until choptree is ported over to forge, no other mode does that at this time. You could check if TreeCapitator has added functionality for this, or even request it, but again, don't know if anyone has added in the removing bottom log process.

Thanks both,

Yeah from the info available on TreeCapitator's page, it doesn't do what I'm after. I will take your suggestion and post about it there. I'll also post on the ChopTree2 page and see if he has any plans to port.

I'm just intensely curious. Are you specifically looking to cut down trees because you don't want an automated method?

I'm not really interested in an automated method in gathering wood, I tend to only go out and fetch some when I need it.

But I don't want 'insta-logs' though and chopping down the tree a block at a time from the bottom is more realistic than have the whole tree 'pop' when you remove one block.

I guess I like to balance the individual parts of the game to my own tastes. :)
