Tips for making my FTB Server less laggy

Hey guys,
Just wanted to know if there are any ways i can maximize my feed the beast server. Me and a friend have played for about 3-4 hours now and it has been a bit choppy at times. Sometimes blocks re-appear when mined and mobs glitch out, making it hard to play the game.

PC specs:
Processor: Intel Core 2 duo CPU @ 2.93GHz each
Ram: 4GB (says only 3.5GB usable, not sure why it says that?)
Operating system: 32-bit windows 7
Graphics card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7770 1GB

Assuming your running the the server off the PC your playing on and I'm assuming ultimate pack (FTB is a launcher). If be the case, specs are a bit on the low end. You'll run find to begin with but asyou build in tech//chunkloaders you'll find the limit easily, i'd imagine the twillight would eat up any spare %'s of CPU. Though i think the issue is more bandwidth, Ultimate uses a lot i hear, it might be your internet connection hitting its limit.

Also your only using 3.5GB of ram because you have a 32bit system.
