Problem The Nether Portals refuse to change

OK so I have a server through Creeper HOst set up on the modpack Infinity Evolved. We got a Nether portal set up in the overworld but it didn't take us to a very desirable spot. After looking some stuff up I ended up deciding to make a new portal in the Twilight forest, however, it took me to the same portal in the Nether. I then tried to make another portal in the over world about 500 blocks away, but it STILL took me to the same portal within the Nether and it's starting to frustrate me. We already got stuck with a mushroom world server and I just want to have some fun in the Nether.

It follows vanilla game mechanics, you'll need to go at least 1024 blocks away.

If you are looking for a relatively local shift in position, break the one that spawns in the nether and rebuild it where you want it. Remember, location in the nether is tied to location in the overworld, but at a different scale with 1 block travel in the nether = 8 blocks travel in the overworld (X and Z).
