Thaumcraft 4.1 Arcane Lamps known to cause lag?

Hey guys, I looked this up and saw a few people asking about this same question, however I could never find a definite answer. Hoping some of you guys could give me a clear answer on this question

I personally have not encountered this. If only a few people have been asking this, maybe it's more of a computer spec issue, than a Thaumcraft issue. Remember, many folks like to point fingers at the mod makers first (see Rotarycraft LOL)

Have you been seeing lag spikes? Have you used OPIS to check?

Well, opis told me there were over 7000 light blocks around my base generated by arcane lamps. I removed them, with no drastic performance boost. It looks better at night aesthetically when everything isnt brightly lit anyway. Magnum torches give you that option. Darkness, but no mobs.

I was on my laptop, so maybe i've just gotten so used to my new super computer desktop that I forgot how slow my laptop actually is
