Hey guys.

I was wondering if there is any reason to use the Thermal Expansion Energy Conduit?
It is far more expensive to craft than a Buildcraft stone or even golden conductive pipe.

There is not much information about it on the TE wiki:
There is energy loss, it is not distance based; suffice it to say that these are indeed an improvement over conductive pipes.

What is the improvement?

The real improvement comes when you use them with the redstone energy cells, as those allow you to store bc energy...

Well for one thing conduits don't explode when you put even a modest amount of mj through them.

Plus you don't need dorky wooden pipes to put energy into them.

Pros:
They intelligently distribute MJ, if there is no destination then a redstone energy cell will stop outputting.

They seem to have a constant rate of energy loss equal to around 5%, no matter how long the conduit is. If your system is bigger than 50 blocks long OR if you're using an energy cell, it's almost always better to use a conduit.

You can make a loop in the circuit and your conduit will handle it properly.

Haven't tested with bigger numbers, but they can have a throughput of at least 2000MJ per tick and they don't explode. Golden pipe explodes at 1000 MJ/tick.

Cons:
You can't attach gates to them.
