[TC4] No earth shards?

Hello! Today I was playing thaumcraft 4 and can't seem to find any earth shards. I've dug huge tunnels at bedrock, only seeming to find entropy,water,air,earth,fire, and order. I have obtained plenty of shards, but need earth for a thaumometer. Do earth shards only spawn at a certain Y level in the world? If so, where do they spawn?

That's funny, most people seem to have problems with the entropy shards, not earth.

To me, that is strange. The most common in my experience are order, water, and entropy. I always had trouble with earth in TC4

They're somewhat based on biomes. Try digging under forest-type biomes for earth shards.
