I'm sorry if this is the wrong place for this or has been posted elsewhere. I did some searching and didn't see this mentioned already. I would like to see a “Vanilla Pack” on the launcher. I enjoy the convenience of the launcher and would like to enjoy it even when I'm not playing one of the canned FTB packs. A “Vanilla Pack” would allow us to start from a blank slate and add mods to it or just play plain old minecraft.

On a somewhat related note I’d like to see the ability to create multiple instances of the packs. To clarify, if I play on “mindcrack server a” that requires me to disable mods x,y,z then I want to switch to “mindcrack server b” that adds mods a,b,c currently I have to edit mod pack and disable, enable, add each time I would like to switch. If we could create an instance for “mindcrack server a” and an instance for “mindcrack server b” switching would be as easy as selecting the instance I want from the launcher.

Arguments I see coming that I would like to address before they pop up here.

I’m not trying to distribute the mods added to the “Vanilla Pack” nor the mod deltas for the hypothetical “mindcrack server a” and “b” through the launcher so I’m not talking about private packs here.

Yes, I know there are other launchers such as MultiMC that already do what I’m asking for and that I can import my FTB packs into it. I’m suggesting an improvement for the FTB launcher not a work around that accomplishes the same.
