TL;DR: 1. How do you usually move up in tech: mix and match machines between all mods, start with x and progress on to y, or only play your favourite couple mods / limit yourself to certain mods for a challenge? 2. Is there a (subjective?) hierarchy to Unleashed mods, in terms of cost of machines and benefit provided?
I'm familiar with maybe half of the mods from Unleashed, from Technic and the 1.2.5 version of AMCO (if anyone's ever heard of it lol). However, I've never had the chance to play with all these mods present at once, plus there's others (Gregtech, Factorization, Railcraft...) that I've never tried and am eager to explore.
Far as I can tell, the most common choices are to start out with Tinkerer's in the early game and use Railcraft boilers for mass energy production late game. But everywhere in between, there's what seems like an impossible number of variety: mining laser, mining drill, or something else like force pickaxe? Farms with MFR or Forestry or even golems from Thaumcraft? And so on...
Basically, I want to understand how I should best dive in to FTB Unleashed. Could you divide it into equivalent-but-different-functioning groups of mods that will all get a player to the endgame? Or is there a progression of sorts to the different mods in terms of power?
