Hello everyone, It's me again.
I've decided that main power source for my base will be RC Steam Boiler(s).
But there is the problem.
Stone/Cobble waterproof pipes can transfer only 10 miliBuckets of Steam per tick.
Golden ones can transfer 40mB/t, but needs one block free space between each other.
That forces me to connect engines directly to boiler and/or turn the boiler into tentacled monster. Both options will ruin aesthetic of my "Industrial sector".
So there is my question: How effective are other-than-"vanilla"-BC-pipes methods of transporting steam (Liquiducts, RP pipes, "Valve Pipe (and more!)", or other) and how use it?

Liquiducts will work, they can transfer a lot of steam. Remember to connect them to the boiler more than once, you can transport a lot of steam through one liquiduct, but only limited amount will be outputed to one from the boiler.

Liquiducts are twice as effective as golden pipes at transporting steam and will not connect to each other. So you can run all the pipes out the back side of the boiler and each pipe would be able to supply 2 steam engines for a rather clean and compact design. As for redpower pipes I an not sure on how effective they are at steam.

engine will take steam out of the boiler when next (remember before they fill with stream a red stone signal)

Golden waterproof pipes don't need gaps, what are you talking about? Item ones do, but not in 1.4.5/6

No, they need. If you put one golden WP pipeline right next to other Golden WP pipeline they will interconnect and mess liquid flow.

In my first contact with Liquiducts they [Liquiducts] did the same until I realized that I have to fill them with liquid first.

Liquiducts transfer a lot more steam than one steam boiler input can emit or one iron tank can accept. This transfer all steam from max size HP boiler:

Tartarus.. I mean at work. Same thing really.
Liquiducts are about the same as 2 gold pipes, and work fairly well. (also you can place them next to each other)

Having a multi-tentacled monster is the result of bad machine placement (aka being a noob)- this is how its done.

If you look from above, and from inside- its all tidy with plenty of room to walk about.
Note the far/back side of the LP boilers do not have any steam pipes connected. (Fuel lines and water pipes).

Edit- anyone take a look at RP fluid pipes? how much can they take?
(they cant be painted ATM, but they look awesome and glass covers can keep them separated)
