I have been working on creating my automated flax farm using 2 Deployers and 2 Block Breakers. The Block Breakers sit on top of each other and have redstone tubes connected to them for their power and output. The left deployer has bone meal while the center deployer has the flax seeds. Using a sequencers to tick through each phase (1=seeds, 2=bone meal, 3 block breakers.

In my single player world where I test my builds, the sytem works flawlessly. The double stacked block breakers destroy the flax and collect all the seeds and string. When I build the exact same thing on my SMP the TOP block breaker (while receiving a redstone signal) does not activate and I am left with string and seeds on the ground.

Any ideas? Could this be a server config issue? I am one of the server admins and can make a change if needed.

Block breaker on top, transposer on bottom. No change to infrastructure. I use this exact setup for a few minifarms on a Mindcrack server I play on.

..Or the other way around, actually. I use it for corn, where breaking the top part breaks the whole thing. So you'd need the breaker on bottom and transposer on top for flax.

Just an an entire tangent to this question, and to answer your usage, but if you have a user on your server that can make golems from Thaumcraft, you owe it to yourself to set up an intelligent straw golem and wooden (I use fast, but perceptive could work as well) farm, especially for flax.

Make sure to fence in the golems, and for the love of all that you consider sacred, have a way to get stuff out of the farm quickly as it fills up FAST!

Otherwise trunksbomb has it head on I'd say.

I love golem powered farms. Especially when you place them into an established and grown farm, the straw golem just kinda goes crazy.. haphazardly breaking crops all over the place. It's fun to watch. Also, I learned yesterday that golems will walk right over top of cacti and don't take damage. Good to know.

Anyways, each one has their own application. A compact bonemeal RP farm is going to get you crops ridiculously fast, but it burns through the bonemeal very quickly. A golem farm will be a constant, maintenance free, slower stream of crops. I use both.

I think this can be caused by order in which block breakers are activated. In your single player world in this case top blockbreaker activates before bottom, but on that setup in your multiplayer world bottom one activates first. You can put two signals, one to bottom one and then delayed one to top. However you can use transposer and one block breaker, like truksbomb said.

Thanks for all the suggestions and feedback. The OCD in me really just wants to figure out why single player works, but my server implementation does not...but I may just go the transposer route or possibly the golem route. Thanks again!
