Soul Bee Specialty Conditions?

On the recommended version of Infinity (not Expert Mode) and I'm trying to get soul combs to make some Oblivion Frames. Got the Soul Bee, tweaked its genetics to run in the overworld, and left it to run for about a day before I realized I wasn't getting any Soul Combs.

I read online that Magic Bees now need a bee to be in a biome with the ideal temperature and humidity before it will product specialty products. Threw a Hell Emulation upgrade in the Industrial Apiary, still no combs. Took it to the nether and left it alone for a couple hours, no combs.

The Soul Bee specifically wants Hellish temperature and Normal humidity, and I haven't found anywhere in the Nether that has Normal humidity. Is there some other biome I need to find? Or something else that I'm just derping on?

You got the correct flower nearby? If memory serves it needs to be a vanilla rose or vanilla flower.

Also in your fixing of it you didn't happen to remove nocturnal by mistake?

Humidity shouldn't matter, as the soul bee has a +-1 humidity tolerance meaning any humidity will work. (Unless in your meddling you removed that, i know i keep saying that but I know myself in my effort to make good bees sometimes without thinking removed nocturnal more then once and didn't notice until later)

I just double checked, and the bee still has nocturnal. It's also cave dwelling, tolerant flyer, humidity tolerance both 2, temp tolerance both 3, all that good stuff. Should be able to run anywhere at anytime.

I do have vanilla flowers around and had them around with the Hell Biome upgrade in the Industrial Apiary, though I didn't take one to the nether when I tried it there. I just set that back up in the nether with a vanilla flower next to it now, so I guess I'll see if that works? It's producing its primary comb almost every bee tick thanks to all the production upgrades I've got, and the Soul Comb is only 3% less likely than that comb, so I'd expect to see them pretty quickly if it was going to work.


Edit: Got it working. It does have to be Hellish/Normal, anything else doesn't seem to work. I used the Hell Emulation Upgrade along with 2 Humidifier Upgrades (I derped a little and forgot those existed until a few minutes ago) in the Industrial Apiary and it's pumping out Soul Combs now.

Glad you got it to work odd that it has to be normal only as that doesn't make much sense with the bee you got. Though I must say I havent fiddled much with that particular bee so could be the code is different to what the wiki say. Now I need to breed some up to check myself

Looking at the issues open on the Magic Bees GitHub, it seems that bees needing their ideal environment to produce their specialty, regardless of genetically altered tolerances, is a recent-ish change. I guess the Wikis just haven't been updated yet.
