Hi everyone,
I'm new to the FTB forums and want to start with a question regarding my small 6 man server:

Our Server exists for nearly 2 Years now and we are alternately playing vanilla and modpacks.
Naturally there are quite a few buildings now on our two maps, that we want to keep.
This is no problem for the vanilla map of course,
but the Modpack world often causes some compatibility problems during updates etc.
We are used to MCEdit and Midas Gold for porting purposes, too.

Until now the map runs on tekkit lite but we want to switch to direwolf20 or the complete ftb pack
due to some interesting mods.

How complex would the porting effort be if we'd change the modpack and retain the world or parts of it
and how good is the modpack consistency of those two mentioned packs regarding updates and world corruptions?

I have read about completely different ID usage across different modpacks using much of the same mods, so i'm a bit concerned about changing alot of IDs manually...

Thanks in advance,

Both packs are highly consistent regarding IDs and stuff, even tough the DW20 pack is more likely to get some more mods added in later. However, as you already read, the Tekkiters modified their IDs a lot, so you for sure will have to use a quite some of time for changing them, and, if possible, convert the worlds to the new IDs, not the configs, as you would have to do that with every update. For the corruption, it is highly unlikely as the modders put a lot of time into finding and fixing bugs, and from what I can tell, all FTB-packs (except beta) run a lot more smoothly and with less problems than Tekkit. There is of course always a chance for savecorrupting bugs, but with a daily backup schedule you should be good to go.

Thank you for your answer :)

We actually switched to FTB Ultimate 1.1.0 yesterday
and as it looks, our Midas Gold Patchfile works for the most part!

If anyone wants to switch from Tekkit Lite 6.5 to FTB Ultimate 1.1.0
and has deactivated Mystcraft and Dimensional Doors
(we have, so those mods aren't covered in the file)
feel free to try it out.

I am not responsible for damaged worlds,
make a backup before trying out anything!

Furthermore be warned that there may be some minor block mismatches
as we discovered that mainly our Quartz and Quartz Dust Stockpiles vanished,
also there are no logistics pipes in Ultimate, so be careful about pipe spillages.

Midas Gold (instructions in the download) can be found here:
