Mac [Solved] FTB crashes and is unable to print the exception to the console.

I've been having increasingly common FTB crashes, and I'm trying to figure out what's wrong.

FTB Launcher version: 1.2.2

Minecraft Version: 1.4.7 (Mindcrack pack)

Java version:
Mac OS 10.8.2
java version "1.6.0_37"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_37-b06-434-11M3909)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.12-b01-434, mixed mode)

Detailed description of the issue / how can the issue be recreated: I play normally for about 5 minutes, then there's massive lag and the game goes to the "Shutting down internal server" screen with the error below. It happens even when I'm just walking around. I'm not sure how to recreate it.

I sometimes see an out of memory error, so I bumped the 1 gb default to 2, (of my 4 max) but it doesn't seem to help.

Is there any way I can find out what the error is?

This error seems to manifest differently for each Mac. It's probably this, here's a possible fix.
