Hi, I'm just creating a thread to get help for my attempt at setting up a server. I've got the server files as usual and running them opens up a command window that almost instantly closes. I have altered nothing in the server start batch file, just running a server from the total default. All it creates is three files on the first startup, ForgeModLoader-server-0 and ForgeModLoader-server-1 which contain exactly the same contents (http://pastebin.com/wWLmVPyi), and a ForgeModLoader-server-0.log.lck file which is empty when opened with Notepad. I'm using Windows XP and the latest version of Java 7. Does anybody have any idea what's going on? I've tried everything I can think of.

Turns out that the exclamation marks (!) in the folder name were causing the issues. It took about half an hour of intense troubleshooting and a strange flash of inspiration to figure that out.
