Slow loading chunks/low FPS

I don't really understand why its so bad. Not sure when it started. But its getting worse. I have tried Normal texture pack and 64X Sphax And its all the same as 128X. Using D5 version of Optifine. Most settings are on Fast, Chunk loading is on Multi-Core

PC specs

I7 3770K @ 4.3GHz
Crossfired AMD 7950's
16GB ram (4GB allocated to FTB)

Moving FTB from my HDD to my SSD didn't help. But it can stay there now.

So Anyone else getting this problem and found a fix?

Any Idea on why such low FPS? 20Fps in my base is a bit stupid.

For your multi-core usage, did you think of disabling "Thread Optimization" in the graphics adapter's control panel?

Also: does this happen to be FTB Ultimate 1.1.2?
On my desktop system (which admittedly is much less powerful than yours) upgrading to 1.1.2 finally crossed the line towards complete unplayability. Having already tried everything else before, I finally disabled Optifine (you do not need it in order to run HD textures, it seems). Lo and behold: it's playable again. I still have good sessions with no probs at all and bad sessions with aggravating lag or memory issues (which I do think are caused not by my system but by some mal-coded mods), so not perfect but overall working.

One should not forget that the version of Optifine we need to run for the 1.4.7 FTB packs is more than 2 months old and was never tested with/optimized for the current final versions of many mods.
