I am building an underground base. I started at y=12, but decided it was too low as the void fog mean't I couldn't see my rooms. I moved to y=32 (nice power of two) but noticed that I was still low enough for slimes to spawn.
So, I see on the minecraft wiki that slimes spawn "below" level 40 (except in swamp biomes where they can spawn higher).
I was wondering if anyone knew if the spawn height for slimes is 40 and below, or strictly below 40, as I don't want to dig out (again) at 40up, and then have to move everything vertically if slimes are still spawning everywhere.
