playing FTB Monster, ATG-alternative world gen. Looking for TiCo slime islands and finding none?
- do they generate in ATG? if so how commonly?
- I need to make sure the mini maps setting for "transparency" is enabled yes?
- look up - are they easy to spot?
What I really want to do is use single use safari nets to capture endermen to kill in a controlled environment to get ender pearls to get a an ender pearl magical crop going...(I think? am at work.) Basically want enderpearls without spending days wandering around getting killed by endermen in the open while being chased by creepers....so far spent 1 hour wandering around anyway and no slime islands...to my knowledge.
1. IIRC, they're somewhat less common than in the normal BOP-style world type, but, I believe, they do generate fairly often. (If my memory serves me well at this wee hour.)
2. Not sure about what you mean here; are you referring to cave-mapping? Or the ability to map transparent blocks (e.g. air, flux gas, somewhat_water) as such? If the second, then yes, I think.
3. No, not terribly easy, unless you're flying at about y=100. You can rarely, and with much difficulty, spot them directly from sea level (y=64), but if you're on a mountain, you should be able to see any close-by ones fairly easily.
Another question is: have you got an animal farm, as well as some basic power (RF or MJ)? Direwolf20's most recent Agrarian Skies video showed how to make pink slimeballs from MFR slaughterhouses, which (I assume) are OreDictionaried with vanilla slimeballs.
Let me know if I made any sense after all...
EDIT: Also, if you happen find any ender-lily seeds in dungeon chests, you can plant those to start with. They are slow, but they do the job.
EDIT^2: Is your goal to find a short/long-term source of ender pearls, or a source of slime? You could make a random Mystcraft age, I believe that slime islands are allowed to generate in them, for whatever reason you want them slimy things for... =/
