Title Slime in a bottle weird behavior

Details of the issue I've created multiple worlds and am seeing this happening. The slime in a bottle object seems to be treated as a weapon type, and when moving into a slime chunk the normal "slime bouncing in the jar" animation only shows 1 frame of animation and stops, and the weapon cool-down animation fires. It also shows an "item in hand changed" animation.
The change to the item in the selection bar is barely noticeable so even after double-checking with multiple slime chunk finder applications to confirm the chunks I wasn't convinced until slimes finally started spawning in the correct location.
I've checked the DireWolf20 1.10 modpack that has the same version of Botania and the slime in a bottle operates normally there. The item is working properly as far as Botania is concerned, but something else is interfering with the display. Also I got the same behavior with and without BoP world type selected.
