Skybox is the technical term for the "sky" in a game. In early systems, this was just a cube, with a texture mapped to the 6 faces. (hence the name) But it's developed to other more complex shapes and/or other methods.
Skybox is the technical term for the "sky" in a game. In early systems, this was just a cube, with a texture mapped to the 6 faces. (hence the name) But it's developed to other more complex shapes and/or other methods.
If the rendering engine supports animated textures on a skybox, then yes, you could do that. Other way would be a texture plane that sits in front of the skybox that moves, bit like the sun/moon in minecraft.
