Sky Factory 3 Unplayable

  • Tech Support section is for getting help with FTB related problems. If there's a repeatable issue that can be labeled as a bug, then please use the issue tracker for the pack or the app at GitHub issue trackers - If there's no repository for a pack that means that the pack is old and/or will not be updated. Bugs for older packs will not be fixed, unless they are critical.

Title Sky Factory 3 Unplayable

Launcher Type Curse App

Modpack Sky Factory 3

Modpack version

Have you modified the pack? No

Details of the issue I recently bought a new laptop. I'm a total n00b when it comes to computers so please bear with me. I went from having 6GB of memory to 8GB of memory. Sky Factory ran fine on my last laptop, even if it took forever to load. Now, it loads very quickly, but is essentially unplayable.

It loads in and it's so laggy that I can't look around or move or interact with anything. I can interact with the game for one second out of ten. I don't know anything about computers or mods. This is the first Minecraft modpack I've ever used or played so I have zero knowledge about troubleshooting. Forge is up to date as is Minecraft itself. I didn't even know what a log was or how to link to one before I looked it up to file this application. The log had lots of main/WARN in it which I gather is bad. I don't know if this has anything to do with the nVidia drivers. I didn't update them to my knowledge, unless it would happen automatically when updating minecraft or something.

Please go easy on me and you may have to explain things really simply. I'm Autistic and so much of this is out of my depth.

The main question is:
Are you actually using your NVIDIA card, or does it use the "stock" Intel driver that comes with your laptop as well? There should be a NVIDIA control center, although you might have to google on how to find and use that to determine if you are using your NV card, and, if not, how to set it so that it actually uses it.

Main/Warn is used to describe any regular error, or non-issue. If it is important, it will be marked as such.

Hey Mates!

I got nearly the same issue. First I Played SF3 severel hours in 3.0.5 without any probs. Then one day fps dropped to 0-3 after login. I updated to 3.0.8 and backed up the world. After the update everything went fine until I decided to let my autosieves work overnight. In the morning (after 3-4 days) the same issue occured.

I updated my graphics driver (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960) and reinstalled SF3. Im using curse client for this.

I allowed the game to use 6GB of my RAM. Other Modpacks are running as normal (UltimateQuestPack, Regrowths, Farming Village). SF3 is the only instance (well, the most RAM intense one) which is unplayable. F3 mode ingame shows that it's using 3GB RAM only if I'm standing still o_O I'm just at the start of SF3 and there aren't heavy machines running.

This is said in the "latest" log file, maybe this is the issue?

"[19:07:56] [Server thread/ERROR]: Failed to get unique identifier for stack 1x (null)
[19:07:56] [Server thread/ERROR]: Found a broken crafting recipe.
mezz.jei.util.BrokenCraftingRecipeException: net.minecraft.item.crafting.ShapedRecipes@2946a24f
Outputs:

Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException: Null item in itemStack"

PS: Any possibilities to upload the logfile here? Does not have an allowed extension if "Latest.log" is the one you need.

Thanks for your help
