Ok, so I have been playing on the Direwolf20 pack for a little while now, and have just begun my transition into using redpower for a lot more things, such as the bulk of my smelting and maybe even my MJ production for pulverisation. But I have run into the problem that in order to set up a proper wind farm, I will need a vast amount of silver, and despite having mined reasonable quantities of everything else, I can't seem to find any silver ore at all.

I am using the base configs for the D20 pack, and while I would love to set up a mystcraft mining age, I don't yet have a steady supply of leather, nor do I have the ability to keep the overworld loaded while I go on my mining expeditions (or more likely, keep the age loaded and let a turtle do all the work.)

Is there any other way to get silver? or am I just going to have to search far and wide for a new mining spot?

Tartarus.. I mean at work. Same thing really.
Smelt all your ore blocks in the induction smelter with sand, you make rich slag as a byproduct.

Rich slag can be smelted into any ingot of choice- cook it with 2 pulverised metal (in your case silver) in the induction smelter for a total of 3 ingots.
(I have a frame bore set at diamond level, using the slag to manufacture copper and tin as needed)
Copper: 40-75
Iron: 20-40 (+0-63)
Lead: 20-40
Silver: 15-35
Tin: 25-50
Diamonds: 0-16
Gold: 0-32
Ruby: 0-32
Sapphire: 0-32
Apatite: 16-88
Emerald: 4-32
Coal: 0-110

Thanks for the heads up; I'll re-adjust my frame bore to bring in a bit of tin.

I find Iron so abundant I would smelt just it for the rich slag and use the slag for the bonus on silver, tin or copper or whatever metal you need more of.
