Hey, Im new so let me know if this is the right spot to post this.
I'm running a feed the beast server and playing in my server on the same PC (2 others are also playing).
The game is very jittery and slow/delayed, Only on my PC (remember I'm running the server on this as well.)
the modpack is DireWolf20 + FlansMod.
my friends are not getting any Jittering on their PC's (im not too sure about delay). is there something im not doing, or what would fix this
The Server and game is located on an SSD.
I have allocated enough RAM.

PC Specs:
CPU: I7-2600 + Corsair H60 Cooler.
GPU: 2XHD7870's.
Storage: Intel-520 120GB-SSD, WD-Black 1TB, + Other Drives (not as fast (just a couple of 250GB's)).
MOBO: Asrock-Z77 Extreme4.
RAM: 2x4GB Corsair Vengance.

Are you getting any errors in console such as "Can't keep up!"? Also how much ram is allocated? There is no such thing as "enough ram" my server takes about 20GB just to boot up let alone the extra I need for players and other things.

I allocated it 4gb of RAM, and im not getting errors like "Cant Keep Up!". but although i allocated it 4gb it says its using 50% with 240mb used?. there is only 2-3 people on the server. i moved the server to another spare PC, which isnt that good Specs and the problem is gone (still playing the game through my good PC tho), although the other PC is not that good and is kinda slow with not that much RAM. in the run.bat file there is a code that says something about permsize, should i worry?. but i also herd people saying (on the internet) something about "access times" although on An SSD i should think this would have good access times.

An SSD doesnt really affect game performance, mainly just when it saves, backups, etc. It could be your internet connection since you are home hosting. The other computer you switched to could have faster internet.

He's hosting and playing on the same computer. There's no internet involved here.

OP, how have you set up your ServerStart.bat file? Have you tried using the JVM arguments posted by Eyamaz?

I had similar issues which were solved by using the server optimizations that Eyamaz provided.

Using his JVM arguements is a very good idea.

Also your pc probably can't run and host ftb at the same time, try hosting and using your 2nd pc to play.

I used the JVM arguments and it works very well now (a very very small jitter every so often). but defiantly playable. there isnt any errors with the server keeping up, so thats good. thanks heaps :)

An i7 Sandy Bridge and 8GB of RAM has pleeeeeenty of power to do both.
