Details of the issue We host our FTB Server on a root-server we rent.
The connection to this server is very good, and the performance is suitable for an ftb Server, as we played FTB for months without any problems.
But a week ago this problem first occured. I tried to enter the nether, but couldn't open any gates and short after I timeouted. I looked up the server log, but it didn't say anything. I couldn't join the server afterwards.
After a few Minutes a Message showed up in the Server logs saying "Server is lagging x ms behind".
A restart didn't change anything.
I also tried to delete the Nether Dimension, but that didn't do it either. The only thing that worked was to restore a backup. Then it was quiet for a week, but yesterday the problem occured a second time, again by entering the nether.
I let the server run over the night, and now it doesn't say "server is lagging behind" anymore, but when I try to join, I timeout a few seconds afterwards anyways.
Why is this, what causes this problem?
