Hello All,

I was hoping you guys knew the answer to my very frustrating, and not really logical problem..

So here goes nothing;

I run my FTB server in the configuration it has always been in, and how it has been in when it worked. But now I CAN connect via my local host, but no-one outside my network can connect, and that's exactly the error it gives in their clients: "Can't connect to server".

The server is running fine as far as I can see, it doesn't skip ticks, doesn't give errors, and it just starts like it should.

So, here is what I have done already in the hope it started working, which it didn't.. :'(

- Forwarded the right ports on my router, the right way
- Opened all the connections on port 25565 it needs for Minecraft servers to run in Windows Firewall
- Also allowed those ports on the other computer from my friend, outside my own WiFi (her place).
- Changed DNS in network properties on the IPv4
- Re-downloaded the FTB server .zip, so it is up to date, the clients are also up to date now.
(I have also tried als these options in 1.8.0, but that didn't work out as well, so now upgraded to 1.9.0)
- Forwarded the ports on my friends' router.
- Re-installed FTB clients on friends' PC.

--Searched an awful lot of forum threads without luck :(

If you guys could help me, it would be very great. I don't want to rent a server, because I know I can host it myself on my second PC.

Thanks in advance!

Are you running any plugins on it?
Not at all.. But it seem that even when I am on the same network as the computer with the problem, that it won't connect to another own-hosted server, I brought my macbook to test it..

Can you - in order:

1. Connect to the server from the same PC? This indicates the server itself is running properly.
2. Connect to the server from another PC on your local network / wifi. This indicates your servers firewall is configured correctly.
3. Connect to the server, using your servers external IP address, as discovered using a tool like http://ipaddress.com/ ? This indicates your port forwarding is working.
4. For bonus points, if your router supports dynamic dns and you have configured it, can you connect to the server using your dynamic dns name? This indicates your dns is correctly configured.

Hey man,

thanks for the reply! I have tried this:

1. Works
2. Works (on my own WiFi, not on hers)
3. Works on my network, but not on hers)
4. Haven't tried it yet, I'll look into that.

However, now I know for sure it is her network that causes the problem. She can connect to other servers on that network, every single one of them, only the server I host myself, or somebody else hosts himself, won't connect. How I know this, is because she moved from her mothers house to her dads house last weekend, she tried to connect to the server from her dads network, and she can connect to the server without problems!

But.. now comes the question, how can I fix the other network at her moms house, so that she can join my own hosted server from there..? (it is a cisco router, I recall)

Thanks!
