Hi all,

I have just built my Minecraft server for me and two other friends, it all runs fine but every 10 mins or so it will rubber band and I can't figure out for the life of me why, this seems to happen the further we all travel apart and the bigger the rubberband gets. but the server doesn't run at full load at all, see specs below

Running FTB Revelations

Java 8 171 32bit and 64bit

CPU: I5 4690k 4.5Ghz (runs at 30-40%)
Ram: Kingston HyperX FURY 1866MHz DDR3 16GB (given max ram so it can take what it needs) (runs at 20-30%)
SSD: 120GB Kingson Hyperx 3k

Internet connection:
Download: 75mbps
Upload: 20mbps

Something that has always been bad for servers is exploring new land. Specially later in the game when you can fly(very fast) you can traverse vast distances in no time, something that the world generation engine simply cannot keep up with. Remember that the engine is designed around a much simpler world, generating only one line of chunks at the time due to default slow walking speeds.

It wont be using full CPU/RAM because it will always be limited by harddrive read/write, even with SSDs.

If you must discover new land on a server, try and do it slowly when you are the only player online. And expect that the server probably will need a restart afterwards, if it doesn't end up crashing.
