Server problem URGENT

Ok, so I'm new to the forums, but I'm not new to FTB I've been able to set up a server for my friends and me to play on, and about a month ago we had a problem, see I use to setup the server with the .BAT file, only I added more ram to it ( I have 16 gbs of ram and a 4 core I5 processor) but one day my friend and me were getting ready to play and when I launched the server, He couldn't reach it, and we tried again and again, finally I just launched it normally (by just clicking the jar file) and he could reach it, And i'm glad we can play, but the lack of ram on the server causes a lot more lag issues and it's really annoying when my other friends try and join, I guess what I'm asking is Does anyone else have this problem?, Has anyone fixed it? We use Hamachi and I can't port forward, My dad is entierly against that (I'm 17 btw just incase it matters at all.)

I can't answer your question on the .bat file problem, as I simply don't know enough about that sort of thing. I will suggest the following, however. You and your friends should consider renting server space. Our group uses Fragnet (there are several good server companies out there) and for $20/month we get enough space for ~20 folks with plenty of processor muscle and memory. You and your friends can put in a few bucks each month and you wouldn't have to worry about port forwarding and your other problems.
