Details of the issue I get this error often on most servers. There are some servers where I can't even join because of this error. It usually takes me around 3-5 tries to actually get into a server that works, but when I get disconnected I mostly get this "Broken Pipe" error.

I will second this one. I'm a server owner and I'm seeing it with some of my players. And this is a server that runs 1.7.10 packs just fine. Out of the ten or so of us playing the server this only happens to about 3 or 4. So I know it isn't the server. BTW: for reference the server has 32 GB RAM, 3.2 GHz Zeon E3 processor and essentially unlimited bandwidth at OVH.com. I gave this pack 6 GB on java command line.
