Details of the issue Modifications to pack : Deleted two startup arguments that are no longer supported and were suggested to be optional. (permsize and something about CMV?)

Java version 9
JRE 1.8

Previously attempted using Java 8, had even more errors. Java versions 7 and prior are now locked behind a paywall.

Any help would be very much appreciated! Please accept my apologies if the answer is obvious, I am at a total loss.

Modifications to pack : Deleted two startup arguments that are no longer supported and were suggested to be optional. (permsize and something about CMV?)

If you're not sure about what you removed, restore the file as it was when downloaded and go from there. The permsize will just be ignored and the message that shows can also be ignored.

Java version 9

Use version 8

From your log: Picked up _JAVA_OPTIONS: -Xmx1024M

Allocate at least 4gb of ram

If you still have issues, post full log (/logs/fml-server-latest.log)
