Save Game dissapearing

If there's a repeatable issue that can be labeled as a bug, then please use the issue tracker for the pack or the app at GitHub issue trackers - If there's no repository for a pack that means that the pack is old and/or will not be updated. Bugs for older packs will not be fixed, unless they are critical.

I've recently started playing minecraft again and have started an omni factory game. (diving in at the deep end but I'm following along with direwolf 20). I was playing happily this morning and it worked fine. I tried starting it again this evening and there was a big update to the launcher. I launch the game from the twitch/ curse client and it opens the minecraft launcher which looks completely different to the launcher from the morning (there is a big bar on the side). I try starting it anyway and it takes a while but my save Game opens, before blue screening after a few seconds. I assume it's because I'm simultaneously watching a video and loading a Web page. I then open my instance folder (documents/curse/minecraft/instances) because I'm confused about the change in launcher. Everything looks fine but I make a copy of my save Game onto my desktop. I launch minecraft again but this time my save game is not showing up in my list of saves. Any ideas?
