Return to the main menu when loading/starting new world

Details of the issue first of all, I'm at work, so I'll try to attach a log later.

playing Infinity evolved last night, power goes out, I restart and try to load my save. It goes to "building terrain" screen, the just suddenly goes back to the menu screen. I thought the power outage corrupted my save, so I tried to load a previous save...does the same thing. I tried to create a brand new world...does the same thing. I then installed a all new copy of Infinity Evolved into a different folder (so I have 2 copies of IE on my launcher at this point), and tried to create a new world...does the same thing. I then tried to create a Sky Factory world...and it works just fine.

seems to be a weird problem with infinity, even after I tried to download a new, completely clean version. and this is all because of a power outage while I was playing.

any thoughts?
