Restored Corrupted World now many errors

  • Tech Support section is for getting help with FTB related problems. If there's a repeatable issue that can be labeled as a bug, then please use the issue tracker for the pack or the app at GitHub issue trackers - If there's no repository for a pack that means that the pack is old and/or will not be updated. Bugs for older packs will not be fixed, unless they are critical.

Details of the issue My son got me into modded Minecraft recently and we have been playing Hermit Pack for about 3 weeks. We had quite a world built up. A few days ago I suffered the "stuck in bed" glitch and rebooted. When I came back my world was missing. I found the save file was missing the level.dat file and a few others. I used a tutorial to restore the world by creating a new one and copying the missing files over.

Unfortunately I had no way of knowing the seed information so the new world I created was a random world. The fixed world now has quite a few errors. We were just getting into Gendustry and Bee breeding prior to the crash and when I went out looking for some new bees we noticed there were no Bee Hives. In the Nether there is a green block that doesn't belong in numerous places. Our mine has a chiselled stone block everywhere. Most of these I could live with, but I will really miss the Bee Hives now.

I tried to copy the world using the Re-Create World tab at the opening MineCraft screen. Unfortnately the world isn't the same. There is a hill where our house was and I haven't found any of our buildings.

I'm wondering if there is any way to remedy some of these problems. Can I create a new world and copy our buildings and inventory over? Can I somehow fix the errors in this world? Any help in this would be greatly appreciated

Edit - I've done some research with structure blocks. It sounds like I might be able to make a new world and then use structure blocks to copy things over and could then add items in creative mode at the beginning. One thing that wasn't clear was how well structure blocks work in Modded minecraft. Will it only work with vanilla blocks or will all the blocks be loaded? Also what about items within structures (smelters, apiaries, storage units, etc)

Before going down that rabbit hole. Did you check the "backups" folder inside Minecraft mod folder?
