Hello,
I was wondering how I would go about removing the mod GregTech from my small FTB Ultimate server. I'm not interested in changing the config, because only some of the recipes changes anyway when I tried to change it.

Thank You!
Manny

Are you the Server owner?

If so all you will have to do is delete GregTech In the mods folder
Yes, I'm the server owner, but the world is pre-existing. I've been playing for about a month. What problems will occur if I delete the GregTech files in the world and continue playing on it?

Every single item and block added by GT will disappear.

Quick edit: This also includes any tile entities that have been placed down (which can sometimes cause issues), so it may be prudent to go around and remove all items and blocks added by GT.

Every GT item/block in the game will vanish. I would make sure you backup your world 1st and backup the GT mod file as well. Then remove GT from the mods folder on your client and the server. Load everything up ans see what happens. If there are issues you can always restore the backup files and put the GT back into the mod folders.

Would I have to remove items that their recipes are modified by GT as well as items that are purely from GT?

Also: Will I have to remove GT from the FTB client, or go into the actual files in the downloads folder and remove it manually?

Just any block that is created by GT. Changed recipes will revert to their original recipes, but anything built by the GT recipe will still remain.

The simplest way would be to "Edit Mods" via the FTB Launcher and disable GT. Another way would be to go to your FTB/%modpack%/minecraft/mods/ and delete (or add ".disabled" to the end of) the GT mod file (not sure if its a .JAR or .RAR file, haven't used IC2 or GT in a long time).

They're a block added by GT. They go poof as well. For that matter, so do any GT ingots you have, so you may want to use a Lexicon-type item/block to convert any GT ingots into their equivalent from a different mod.

Ok, what do you mean by "Lexicon-Type Converter". And how can I tell which ingots are added by GT, and what are an other mod?

The "Forge Lexicon" is an item added by Omnitools that lets you convert one item to another of the same "kind", if it's defined in the Forge Dictionary.

An example of this would be that Forestry and IC2 both add copper ore, ingots, and blocks. They don't stack, but are each usable in recipes that call for copper. The Lexicon lets you change the IC2 copper ingots into the Forestry version (or vice versa).

I believe GT and MFR both also add a "Lexicon"-alike block that lets you do the same thing.

And to see what items and blocks are added by GT, open your inventory, and in the NEI search box type "@Greg". This should filter the item list on the right to only show things added by GT. Keep an eye out for any of those.

Thank you all for your help! I will now start to work using all of your suggestions! I will ask more questions, if I encounter any problems!

Hmm, when I type @Greg in the NEI box, it still shows all items in FTB, as if the text block is blank. What do I do?

Hm. Odd, that usually works for me and filtering by mods. Here's another way to do the same thing:

On the top bar in the NEI inventory interface is a long button named "Item SubSets"; click it. Move down to "Mod", then while still keeping your mouse over "Mod", scroll wheel down so you can see GregTech (if it's not already visible). Shift-click on the GregTech listing and it should filter it so only GT items are shown.

Ahh! Got it! So, pretty much all ingots and dusts that have a "chemical compound" under the title when you mouse over it are from GT?
