Right now I'm running 1.1.3 and as some of you may be aware of, you can't craft force sticks in 1.1.3. I'm thinking about updating to 1.1.4 but will I have to make a new world?
 
No its just an upgrade of some of the mods. As long as you aren't changing modpack or MC version, your world can be upgraded without any problems.
 
I would suggest either using 1.1.6 or.7 instead of 1.1.4 or manually downgrading IC2 if you use it (which is what I did). The version shipped with 1.1.4 is ... rather buggy.

Ahh yeah that's true. I actually stuck to 1.1.3 and just cheated in some force sticks, since none of the updates never got to recommended status.

I ended up moving the Tinkers Construct and DartCraft mods from 1.1.4 pack to both my 1.1.3 server and client and now it's working fine. :)
