Red Wood Log Facades

I am currently playing with the basic Mindcrack mod set and was thinking about covering up a series of buildcraft pipes using Red Wood Log Facades to make a fake Redwood Tree. However, when trying to place the facade pieces they always seem to be aligned the same direction so that there is only bark on the outside of two sides of the tree.

Does anyone know if there is a way around this or a way to change the rotation of the facade pieces to make a natural looking tree?

Are you using the 2x2 redwood logs, or the 1x1 (the 1x1 is like a normal log)? Or can only one of those be facade converted?
