Hey guys, I'm having the copper predicament that a few people seem to be having with the 1.5.2 modpacks and I'm also trying different things to what I used to use in FTB Ultimate and before.

So what I've got set up is a bunch of nuclear reactors using the advanced setup from the wiki along with a breeder reactor making all of my uranium last 8 times longer. The problem I'm having is that the reactors need quad uranium cells instead of single ones to produce the reasonable amount of EU/t that they do.

That in itself is not the problem. The problem is that each one of those needs 32 copper for the dense copper plates - which multiplied by the number of reactors I have (currently only 4, but I plan to upgrade that to many more) - becomes 128 every 2 hours and 47 minutes. All the time I've not got quarries running or the laser drill running, I run out of copper extremely quickly.

I don't mind a high up front copper cost, but what sort of reactor setup would I be going for that is 100% safe and will produce a reasonable amount of EU/s without constantly draining my copper after creation?

If one of you IC2 nuclear experts out there wouldn't mind drawing up a reactor setup that adheres to that, I'd be greatly appreciative. I don't mind the format, but the IC2 reactor planner would be best. Thanks in advance!

TLDR; Nuclear reactor design that uses single uranium cells and is 100% stable.

I had a design that uses single uranium cells but dont expect them to be very effective for a long term power source but they are at best stable... meaning my build isnt made for breeding uranium just expends them until they are useless

This is one of the best allrounder single cell setups.

If you can live with a minor running cost, this reactor is also very good.

I plan to keep the current breeder I have as it doesn't constantly drain copper. All I need is a constant source of power from a stable reactor using single cells rather than those copper draining quad cells.

Could you upload a screenshot of the layout or a reactor planner link?

Thanks

Hmm. I'd love to check them out but I'm on my phone at work and won't be able to check until I get home. Thanks for the links.

EDIT: I checked out those links and they look really good. 230EU/t isn't that much, but is quite capable of being replicated 10, 20 or even more times. Will use up my uranium and stop me from using those awesome Ultimate Hybrid Solar Panels. Haha
