If you're going for a "house in a tree" look than go with 1A. If you're going for a hollowed-out tree look 2C is best.
 
it's going to be a huge tree, with on the inside the farms.
here's a screenshot of where it'll be going

I think the 2's look more like a hollowed out tree than the 1's.
I'm indifferent on the internal material, but I like the external material of 2
 
I decided to go for 2A. the outside is nice and dark, and the inside is night and bright, helps me seeing things better. luckily I have a snow biome just outside my base
now I just need to go to the Twilight Forest and see how those big trees are generated.
